The causes of premature ejaculation are quite complex. It is generally believed that premature ejaculation is mostly related to psychological factors, and is caused by increased excitability of the cortical central nervous system in the brain. Strictly speaking, premature ejaculation is only considered when the male partner has not yet made contact with the female partner during sexual intercourse, or ejaculates less than 1 minute after the penis enters the vagina, making it impossible to engage in normal sexual intercourse. For first-time couples, they lack sexual knowledge and are not good at understanding each other’s psychological and physiological characteristics during sexual intercourse. In addition, they lack experience and cooperation, resulting in premature ejaculation. Some people experience mental stress due to their first sexual encounter failure, leading to a series of pathological changes. Fear, anxiety, and other factors often trigger premature ejaculation. Similarly, factors such as long-term indulgence, excessive pornography, and frequent masturbation can trigger premature ejaculation. It is not uncommon for organic diseases to cause premature ejaculation in clinical practice, such as chronic prostatitis, posterior urethritis, seminal vesiculitis, verrucitis, encephalomyelitis, diabetes, alcohol or morphine poisoning, etc. In addition, excessive sexual activity after marriage, physical fatigue, and lack of coordination and cooperation between couples are factors that cannot be ignored.

Premature ejaculation is called primary if it occurs during the first sexual intercourse, and secondary if there was a period of satisfactory sexual activity before it occurs. There are three common types of premature ejaculation:

1. Primary premature ejaculation occurs from adolescence, accompanied by normal erections and related psychological concerns.

2. Manifesting as an acute premature ejaculation attack, usually accompanied by insufficient erection and often accompanied by generalized anxiety, physiological or psychological triggers can be identified.
