How to give first aid after being bitten by a venomous snake?
1. During self rescue, ropes, handkerchiefs, plant vines, and cloth straps can be used to tie the wound at a distance of 5cm from the proximal end of the wound, with a degree of tightness to block lymphatic and venous reflux. Relax every 20-30 minutes for 1-2 minutes to prevent ischemic necrosis of the limbs. Remove the bandage 30 minutes after emergency treatment or effective snake medicine. If possible, seek medical attention as soon as possible.
2. Discharge wound endotoxins
Expansion: Make a “+” incision on the wound to facilitate the discharge of venom.
Cleaning the wound: Rinse the wound repeatedly with clean water, soapy water, saline water, or a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, then squeeze the area around the wound to expel the venom. Wet compress the wound with 0.02% furazolin solution.
Acupuncture Detoxification: When the local swelling is severe after a bite for more than 24 hours, a needle can be used to puncture the lower end of the swelling every 2-3 cm, causing the affected limb to sag. Press from top to bottom to allow the venom to flow out of the needle eye, 2-3 times a day, for 2-3 consecutive days.
Application of snake medicine: Nantong snake medicine (Jidesheng snake medicine), mild cases take 5 tablets/time, 3 times/day, severe cases take 10 tablets/time, orally, once every 4-6 hours. Dissolve the above tablets in warm water and apply them to the acupuncture site and around the wound.
