There are two types of foreign bodies inserted into the external auditory canal: non biological foreign bodies and animal foreign bodies. The former occurs more frequently in children, who prefer toys, beans, small stones, paper pieces, etc. to enter the external ear canal. The latter is when small insects crawl or pounce into the external ear canal.

If it is a small bug entering the ear, you can use an electric light to approach the ear and illuminate the external ear canal, or blow in cigarette smoke to lure the bug out.

2. Drop 1 drop of olive oil into your ear to kill the bug, then tilt your ear to one side and let the killed bug fall out.

If it is a toy, beans, sand, paper, or other object inserted into the ear, jumping with one foot a few times may also cause the inserted object to jump out.

When water enters the ear, one should jump a few times with one foot along the head, or use a toothpick to wrap a cotton swab and gently probe into the ear to absorb the water.

If the foreign body in the ear cannot be removed after 2-3 attempts using the above methods, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. Do not let foreign objects stay in the ear and ignore them. Especially for young children, they should be treated early to avoid damaging their ears.
