Accidents can happen at any time in our daily lives, and only by taking appropriate preventive and emergency measures can we protect our own safety when facing these accidents. Today, I will share with you how to provide first aid in the face of burns? Let’s take a look together.

1. Quickly move away from the source of fire and remove clothing that is on fire. Or pour cold water on clothes that are on fire, or roll them on the spot.

2. Cover the fire with a coat, quilt, or blanket to extinguish it, or simply roll or jump into a pond or pool to extinguish the fire in a ditch.

3. Attention: ① Do not run while calling for help, as this will worsen the burn. ② After being scalded by liquid, immediately cut off the soaked clothes. If the edges of the clothing are too tight, do not forcefully tear them off. First, cut off the non adhered part and leave the adhered part temporarily Do not touch the wound or blister with scissors, and do not apply purple medicine, red medicine, or other ointments to avoid affecting the observation of the wound.

4. The wound should be rinsed with water and then wrapped or applied with a clean cloth to prevent infection. When burning the skin with strong acids, alkalis, and asphalt, rinse thoroughly with clean water. When eye burns occur, rinse with physiological saline, remove foreign objects with a cotton swab, and drip 0.25% chloramphenicol eye drops.

5. When wrapping burns on hands and feet, the fingers (toes) should be separated to prevent adhesion.

6. When experiencing severe pain, use 1 to 2mg/kg of Dufengding, preferably diluted twice with physiological saline, and slowly injected intravenously to relieve pain.

7. When lacking water, you can take a small amount of diluted salt water, salt tea water, or burn drinks (each tablet contains 0.3g of salt, 0.15g of sodium bicarbonate, and 0.03g of luminol) multiple times. Take one tablet and 100ml of plain water orally.

8. Large area burns (over 40%): If vomiting occurs, fast for 24 hours. If thirsty, use a small amount of water to moisten the mouth.

9. When experiencing second or third degree burns, promptly seek medical attention. Avoid bumps during the journey, keep warm, take oxygen, and receive intravenous fluids.
