During seasonal changes, children are prone to nosebleeds due to internal heat or diet. So, how should our parents provide first aid at this time? Let’s take a look at the relevant precautions together.

1. Press the nasal wings tightly with two fingers for about 3-5 minutes, and apply slight inward and upward force to stop the bleeding. If possible, disinfect cotton balls or gauze and stuff them into the nostrils before using the upper method to compress and stop the bleeding.

2. Raise your right hand for left nasal bleeding, and raise your left hand for about 3-5 minutes for right nasal bleeding.

3. Place a cool towel on both sides of the child’s forehead, nose, and neck, or use a small ice pack.

4. Let the child sit or lie on their back in bed, with their head slightly tilted forward instead of backward.

5. If there is a lot of bleeding, you should go to the hospital and use gauze dipped in hemostatic drugs to stuff the nasal cavity and compress it to stop bleeding.

6. If necessary, take an appropriate amount of vitamins C, A, and B.

7. When the nasal cavity is dry, a cotton swab dipped in clean water can be used to wipe the nasal cavity, which can also remove scabs.

8. Usually, educate children not to use their fingers to dig their nostrils and cultivate good hygiene habits.

9. The main reason for autumn dryness is a lack of water in the body, so the most important thing is to replenish water. Be careful not to drink large amounts of water in a short period of time to avoid causing bloating. It is important to consume small amounts multiple times to ensure full absorption.

10. Don’t eat spicy or hot foods in your diet, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

11. We should strengthen the daily health care of young children’s noses: keep the nose clean and healthy, and improve the quality of inhaled gases.

12. If the child frequently experiences nosebleeds, it is recommended that parents take the child to the hospital for examination of the cause and targeted treatment.
